Second-half goals from Ken Oman and Jason Byrne saw the champions overcome Galway United to remain top of the League of Ireland Premier Division.

Indeed, it was a full 24 minutes before Bohemians had their first shot on goal when an inch perfect from Glen Cronin split the Galway defence in two.

But Byrne, having got goal side of the defender, could only shoot straight at Barry Ryan in the Galway goal.

And then on the half hour, Byrne flicked on a through ball from Paul Keegan. Gary Deegan then unleashed a terrific first time shot from the right hand side of the box but Ryan was on hand to turn his effort around the post.

Bohemians started the second half with Neal Fenn on for Ndo but were lacking any cutting edge as the game passed the hour mark.

That prompted another change with Graham Carey introduced on the left wing and it nearly reaped an immediate dividend with Fenn just failing to get in on the edge of a dangerous cross from the wing.

But Bohemians finally went in front on 73 minutes after Byrne's had headed off a Damien Brennan cross, with a Galway player cleared the ball away for a corner.

And from Paul Keegan's set-piece on the left, Ken Oman beat Ryan with a terrific glancing corner into the far corner.

And then with a minute to go, Bohemians wrapped up the points when Glen Cronin was impeded inside the penalty area by two Galway defenders.

Anthony Buttimer immediately pointed to the spot, and Jason Byrne duly converted for this 13th league goal of the season.
