A weakened United side went out 3-2 to Derry City in the Brandywell in the EA Sports League Cup. United recovered from a goal deficit to take a 2-1 lead. Goals from Cian McBrien and Anto Flood looked to have put United through but two late goals from the home team put United out of this years competition.
