Drogheda United 4-0 Galway United
Tuesday, 20 October 2009
Relegation-threatened Drogheda United eased their fears of automatic relegation with a comprehensive victory over a Galway side who are not yet clear of the play-off positions.

Brendan McGill volleyed the home side into a 39th-minute lead, but it took two excellent saves by Drogs keeper Paul Skinner from Vinny Faherty and Aaron Greene to prevent a Galway equaliser early in the second half.

Goals on 58 and 62 from Paul Crowley and Ian Ryan effectively ended the game as a contest and Paul Shiels steered in a fourth in stoppage time to complete the rout.
